    Job Title: Patient Service Coordinator – General Surgery (3-Month Contract)

     

    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

     

    Contract Length: 3 Months (Open-ended, potential for extension)

     

    Experience Level: Entry Level

    Job Description:

    We are seeking a professional, reliable, and empathetic Front Desk Receptionist to join a busy outpatient General Surgery practice in Clinton, MD. This is a critical customer-facing role focused on patient check-in/check-out, registration, and medical records support. You will be the first point of contact for patients and play a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment.

    Responsibilities:

    + Greet and check in patients with warmth and professionalism

    + Register new patients and accurately enter demographic and insurance information

    + Collect co-pays and verify insurance coverage

    + Reschedule follow-up appointments as needed

    + Manage patient check-out and ensure proper documentation

    + Handle medical records requests and updates

    + Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality

    + Provide empathetic support to patients, understanding their needs and concerns

    + Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    + 1–3 years of medical office or customer service experience preferred

    + Strong customer service focus and ability to remain calm and empathetic

    + Computer proficiency required (Microsoft Word, Excel, EMR systems)

    + Experience with EMR systems and IDX is a plus

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks

    + Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills

    + Open to candidates with strong customer service backgrounds outside healthcare

    Team Structure:

    + Fully staffed team includes 2 front desk professionals

    + This role fills a vacancy and is part of a supportive, collaborative team

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
