    Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) manages and operates the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) for the U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). Our MISSION is to help ensure the security of the United States and its allies by providing high-hazard experimentation and incident response capabilities through operations, engineering, education, field, and integration services and by acting as environmental stewards to the Site’s Cold War legacy.     Responsiblities

     

    MSTS is seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and highly motivated individual to join our Waste Generator Services group. In this role you will provide support and perform packaging and management of waste (non-radioactive, RCRA, non-hazardous) to ensure applicable regulatory and permit requirements are achieved. Coordinate between waste generators and regulators so that waste can be readily characterized, and disposal determinations are achieved as quickly as possible. Participate in field activities related to waste packaging, shipping and characterization of RCRA, TSCA, DOT-regulated and non-regulated waste.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Support all NNSS waste activities.

    + Compliant storage of hazardous waste.

    + Perform RCRA and TSCA (PCB) packaging.

    + Perform DOT determinations and shipments.

    + Support profiling of waste for compliant disposition.

    + Maintain storage configurations and inventories at the HWSU.

    + Issue and maintain hazardous waste accumulation areas and logs.

    + Performs work that involves conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting requirements, unsuitability of conventional methods, or difficult coordination requirements.

    + Prepares administrative and technical documents as required for maintenance, operations, or testing.

    + May coordinate project assignments among engineering, construction, specialty staff groups, clients, and vendors.

    + May coordinate with other departments within the company/labs and with outside vendors.

    + Provides solutions for moderately complex assignment-related problems.

    Qualifications

    Due to the nature of our work, US Citizenship is required for all positions.

     

    + Associate degree in field related to the position plus at least 9 years’ progressive related experience or High School diploma plus 11 years’ progressive related experience.

    + Strong understanding of customer service principles.

    + Ability to deal with pressure of handling multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, and time constraints.

    + Ability to follow oral and written instruction and follow through on all assignments.

    + Ability to coordinate work activities with other groups and organizations.

    + Ability to plan/organize work to complete in the most efficient manner and maintain regulatory compliance.

    + Ability to build relationships and work with a wide variety of coworkers and customers.

    + This is a full-time position ( **in office, in field** ) at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada and the NNSS.

    + Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday – Thursday (subject to change).

    + Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

    + Must possess a valid driver's license.

     

    Ability to obtain a HSPD-12 Personal Identity Verification credential under the Department of Energy Order 206.2, ‘ _Identity, Credential, and Access Management_ ,’ and Supplemental Directive NNSA SD 206.2, ‘ _Implementation of Personal Identity Verification for Uncleared Contractors_ .’

    Annual salary range for this position is: **$81,681.60 - $122,532.80.**

     

    Starting salary is determined based on the position market value, the individual candidate education and experience and internal equity.
