Position Description:
Performs instructional and educational work while serving as a teacher in a classroom/lab. Organizes and develops course work, coordinates classes for students, observes and assesses the needs of the students. Maintains communication both formally and informally with students and other educators. May supervise clerical, professional and/or technical employees and lab students working for college credit.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Assist in the planning and organization of courses within the Community Health Certificate curriculum
+ Deliver content using a variety of instructional methods under the direction of the course director. Examples include lectures, small group facilitation, simulations, and debriefings
+ Contribute to course planning, instructional material development, and accurate maintenance of student records
+ Help mentor student teams in the development, implementation, and presentation of practicum and community-based projects
+ Meet regularly with practicum teams to mentor, monitor progress, and support project success
+ Actively contribute to the planning and implementation of practicum community engagement workshops and related activities
+ Support planning and execution of all activities associated with the interprofessional (dental/medical) 3-week immersion course in collaboration with the medical school, including on-campus and community-based components
+ Mentor student teams on community assessment projects during immersion, including guidance during team time, feedback on progress, and participation in related instructional activities as needed
+ Under the guidance of the course director, use formative assessment methods to provide students with regular feedback on their progress and support continuous improvement
+ Assist in conducting summative assessment of student performance by preparing and monitoring progress in weekly tests, assignments, team projects, and other related components and reporting back to the course director; ensuring alignment with course objectives and providing clear, constructive narrative feedback
+ Conduct individual mentoring meetings with students to support academic performance, skill development, and professional growth under the guidance of the course director
+ Collaborate with faculty and staff to ensure cohesive delivery and refinement of the integrated community health curriculum
+ Participate in departmental meetings, faculty development sessions, and program-level planning activities as appropriate
+ Display professionalism, integrity, and a team-oriented mindset while working with students, colleagues, and community stakeholders
+ Perform other duties as assigned to support the success and development of the Community Health Certificate program
+ Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes
+ Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP’s values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution
+ Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master of Public Health (MPH) or equivalent, with concentration in Health Education, Health Promotion, or in Community Health, or equivalent
+ Certification in Health Education or Public Health, a plus
+ Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
+ Work as a team player and collaborate effectively with Faculty, staff, and students
+ Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
+ Flexibility to adapt to evolving program needs and responsibilities
+ Previous experience mentoring students and overseeing research and/or community-based projects, preferred
