    The **_Campus Dining Services_** department at the **University of Colorado Boulder Campus Dining Services** department encourages applications for a Head Line Cook! This is a hands-on culinary position that provides oversight and leadership to back-ofhouse Dining Attendants. Under the supervision of the Sous Chefs and Kitchen Manager, prepares, assigns and delegates standardized recipe preparation, ensuring quality, allergen and food safety/standards. This position offers outstanding customer service in a team oriented and supported environment.     The **Division of Student Affairs** consists of 30 departments that provide student support and services dedicated to helping students become successful, curious, competent individuals during their time at CU Boulder.

     

    The work in Student Affairs supports all factors of the student experience, no matter what department a staff member may work in. This includes where students live, eat, make friends, build professional skills and find help if they need it. Many departments provide involvement opportunities, educational resources and support services to help students find their community and build lifelong skills. Student Affairs also has shared services departments that support the work and staff of our student-facing areas, including areas like assessment, business services, financial planning, humanresources, marketing communications and information technology (IT).

     

    With over 800 staff members in the Division of Student Affairs, our diverse team is uniquely positioned to personalize the student experience and advocate for students, enhancing their success inside and outside the classroom.

     

    Campus Dining Services leads the industry with outstanding quality food and dining experiences. Campus venues include residential dining halls, catering and retail outlets with staff who strive to make each student's experience the best it can be. Serving about 3 million meals each year, Campus Dining Services is dedicated to expanding sustainability efforts and providing options to guests with dietary restrictions andallergens.

     

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

    _Kitchen Prep and Operation:_

    + Prepare, assemble and delegate food preparation tasks.

    + Assist with the setup and breakdown of production and service areas.

    + Understand and use a variety of equipment and service standards as appropriate.

    + Follow and enforce set food safety protocol in all areas of oversight.

    + Ensure cleanliness and quality of BOH service areas.

    _Customer Service:_

    + Provide excellent customer service and assist with customer needs and inquiries.

    + Lead by example both in general work ethic and positive and efficient demeanor.

    + Display and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

    _Quality Assurance:_

    + Follow all ParTech and A9 labeling procedures, request labels, and recognize allergen errors.

    + Full comprehension of allergen labeling protocol, including avoidance of cross contact, and report concerns to Shift Supervisor or Service Manager.

    + Serve on the food safety response team and respond to all food safety emergencies.

    + If a work cell phone is provided, a response call must be within an hour of the original call and/or message.

    _Personnel:_

    + Train new staff members, both full time and student employees.

    + Empower others to make decisions in areas within their span of control.

    + Make scheduling recommendations and alert management of holes in the personnel roster when needed.

    + Hold others accountable, following progressive coaching process.

    + Discuss staff issues with Shift Supervisor and Lead Service Manager.

    What We Require

    + Three years of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position. Relevant education may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

    + Servsafe certified and/or certificate appropriate for the position level or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire. Must possess appropriate Servsafe certification or certificate appropriate to position level for the duration of employment with CDS.
