Residential Dining
Residential Dining Services’ ( RDS ) mission is to deliver an outstanding dining experience crafted by an engaged team dedicated to social and environmental responsibility. RDS operates 5 dining centers, 2 convenience stores, a full bakeshop, and a warehouse. We employee more than 1,000 employees who serve 12,000 meals per day to the 6,000 students who live on campus.

Position Summary
This position manages the Front of the House for the Durrell Dining Center location that operates on the Fort Collins campus in Fort Collins, Colorado. Duties include hiring, training, food preparation, product selection, enforcement of defined policies and procedures, inventory management, documentation, quality standards, and standard operating procedures. This position ensures adherence to health department regulations for licensed retail establishments.
The Durrell Center is open 7 days a week from 7 am-11:00 pm, with its primary role within Residential Dining Services to provide an outstanding dining experience during non-traditional mealtimes. The hours will be based on business needs and may include extended and/or evenings and weekends.
The Retail Front of the House Manager will be dedicated to providing excellent service to the university community and fostering a welcoming and respectful environment.
Required Job Qualifications
+ Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university,ORacademic institution with a major or minor that emphasizes business and/or hospitality,ORa related field associated with the duties of the position.

+ Day-to-day Operational Control, Team Development, and Resource Management Experience:(e.g., Manages daily operations by scheduling and training staff, processing orders via POS , and monitoring inventory to reduce waste.)
+ Possess a current ServSafe certification or equivalent:(e.g., ServSafe or equivalent; include date and basic knowledge of safety)

+ Manage the food ordering platform to ensure accuracy during service. Report downtime on time and make immediate corrections as needed.
+ Development and ensure adherence to quality and cleanliness standards.
+ Determine food production quantities, evaluate and adjust food production to ensure quality standards are met, address customer complaints, and ensure all food safety standards are complied with to reduce risk to customers and staff.
+ Determine staffing levels based on customer demand and adjust staff assignments.
+ Responsible for all point-of-sale systems to comply with CSU’s Business and Financial Services policies and procedures.
+ Make logical decisions to stay within the established budget using documentation that includes labor analysis, monthly summary report, and cost over production.
+ Identify new retail items and equipment within budget requirements.
+ Perform administrative and managerial duties and complete documents.

+ Lead, set an example, and promote excellent customer service by listening, interpreting, and clarifying.
+ Develop, implement, and train staff on HDS and departmental customer service initiatives.
+ Effectively address customers’ concerns and questions in a professional and timely manner.
+ Exchange information with customers, staff, vendors, departments, and other managerial or student groups.
+ Create, invite, attend, and manage meetings with the student leadership team to communicate department and dining center goals.
+ Attend assigned meetings and training sessions while passing appropriate tests, as applicable (e.g., Departmental, ServSafe, HACCP , allergy training, new employee training).
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Guide direct reports regarding professional development needs, career development, and career decisions.
+ Investigate and apply appropriate resolutions to complex situations between full- time employees, student employees, nonstudent hourly employees, and customers related to violations of safety and risk management or stemming from enforcement of department policies and procedures.
+ Lead problem- solving efforts by consulting with colleagues when personnel issues arise related to facilities operations or emergency response spanning multiple departments or work areas.
+ Conduct all disciplinary actions for student and non-student employees based on the Student and Non-Student Employee Accountability Policy.
+ Accurately and timely complete accident reports as necessary.
