We’re #hiring for Director Innovation, Application and Formulation Health, Nutrition & Care (HNC) North America in our Princeton, NJ site. This position operates in a dynamic, global environment, leading the innovation efforts, in North America, Premix Technical Services and Support, as well as heading up the regional Applications Center. You’ll work cross-functionally to take a strong influencing and leadership role to accomplish goals and challenge your counterparts in the business. You will have a significant impact on the strategic business decisions and direction.

Within HNC, accelerating innovation and driving solution selling has been identified as one of the must-win priorities and key anablers for growth. Our goal is to develop new solutions (including ingredients, science and applications) for our customers that leverage our unique ingredient portfolio and scientific capabilities.

Sound intriguing? There’s more. You’ll manage an applications team along with a technical services team. This highly collaborative role has a broad scope and requires strong leadership, agility and stakeholder engagement.

Your key responsibilities

+ Create value by supporting our customers to better satisfy the needs of their consumers. This requires being a solutions provider by translating consumer health needs into safe, reliable nutritional ingredients and premixes, with scientific proven benefits; providing technical resolution to challenging issues; and driving the regional innovation pipeline to manage projects and support launches.

+ Lead NA innovation efforts by designing, developing and executing the NA innovation pipeline and commercialization of new products, product line extensions, new solutions and business models across the entire HNC portfolio. This requires working “hand in glove” with regional marketing, Science and Advocacy and Regulatory functions with substantial interface with global Innovation and R&D teams.

+ Assure alignment of regional innovation roadmap with regional/global segment strategies. Bring customer and market insights to guide new development.

+ Lead the Premix formulator team, the Technical Services / Support Team and deliver on HNC premix strategy to move further from a product to solutions provider by growing premix offering across segments

+ Lead and manage the NA HNC Applications Labs (in Princeton and Newark) and provide technical expertise to HNC to achieve Technical Marketing level objectives as agreed in Segment Plans.

You bring:

+ Minimum 10 years of experience in technical roles and having specific industry technical experience (Food and/or Pharma) required

+ Minimum 3 years of direct people management experience required

+ Growth Mindset and high collaboration, with ability to effectively operate and influence cross-functionally, manage broad multidisciplinary and multicultural teams and engage Senior Executive levels in a highly matrixed environment

+ Broad view on industry and markets, in-depth know-how about customers’ products and formulation, customers’ needs and expectations, pharmaceutical and food applications/delivery systems

+ Ability to present projects and concepts to management and customers

+ Master’s Degree in a scientific discipline require; Ph D preferred. Background in pharmaceutical/galenic and/or food technology is required

_The salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Salary $176,300-200,000._

_In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
