Job Description

A client is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to perform design, engineering, and architecture work for a new datacenter being stood up in Colorado Springs. They are looking for someone experienced in designing VDI and virtualized environments, able to be the go-to expert in this area. Deep, hands-on expertise with a major enterprise virtualization platform (e.g., VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V). Must be able to demonstrate advanced configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills

VDI Architecture and Design: Proven ability to architect and design Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions, including consideration of scalability, security, user experience, and cost-effectiveness. This includes selecting appropriate hardware, storage, networking, and software components.

Candidate must be on site day to day in Colorado Springs, have an active TS/SCI clearance, and be willing to get the NCP certification before starting in the job, if not already in hand.

Skills and Requirements

- 7-10 years hand on experience as a Systems Engineer (truly doing design & engineering work)

- Deep, hands-on expertise with a major enterprise virtualization platform: VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, or Microsoft Hyper-V

- Must be able to demonstrate advanced configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills

- 5+ years specifically doing VDI Architecture and Design: Proven ability to architect and design Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions, including consideration of scalability, security, user experience, and cost-effectiveness. This includes selecting appropriate hardware, storage, networking, and software components.

- Extensive experience in the installation, configuration, and ongoing management of hypervisors. This includes:

• Resource allocation (CPU, memory, storage, networking)

• High availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configuration

• Security hardening and compliance

• Patch management and upgrades

- Active TS/SCI clearance

- NCP certification in hand, or willing to obtain before starting Nutanix design experience null
