    Job Description

    A client in the San Diego Area is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to Join their team located in Rancho Bernardo. The successful candidate will report to Electrical Technologies Sr. Manager of High-Speed Digital and, alongside high-caliber staff, will be engaged in the engineering support and new development of satellites and space systems, high-energy laser systems, advanced aerospace and electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communications, nuclear thermal propulsion. We are looking for a hardware and circuit board design lead to participate in the concept development and prototype design, integration, and test of high-power processing and controls solutions for all product lines and technology areas. These encompass high-power motor drives, power conditioning systems, high-energy laser systems, battery systems, advanced aerospace and electro-optic sensors, space-based optical communications, small satellites and space systems, nuclear thermal propulsion, optical beam pointing and control, and signal/image processing. They will also function in a leadership role for a project/program and provide planning, direction and oversight to less experienced professional staff or team of professional staff in technical efforts.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - Eligible to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance

     

    -Bachelor's Degree with 12 years’ total professional work experience, Master's Degree with 10 years’ total professional work experience, PHD with 7 years total professional work experience

     

    -Need to be comfortable with lead responsibility

     

    -Experience designing Circuit boards/electronics for Space/Aerospace

     

    -Electrical system command and data-handling architecture and technical team leadership; high-speed digital circuit design; embedded processing and controls; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, and RF is required; guiding a design through development and into production; familiarity with DoD technical review process (at a minimum: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).

     

    -Desired Skills (ranked high to low): Experience with Altium PCB Design Software, PADS PCB Design Software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, HyperLynx Signal/Power Integrity tools, ANSYS Signal Integrity tools, Atlassian Tools, Microsoft Project.

     

    - Experience working with High-reliability aerospace electronics and electrical systems; unmanned space-systems and satellites, including micro-satellites, cube-satellites, or small-satellites (>500 kg) null
