    Responsibilities*

    The University of Michigan Health (UMH), Michigan Medicine Nurse and PA Recruiter will be responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and retain top nursing and physician assistant talent across the academic medical center. The role requires building strong, collaborative relationships with nursing leadership, hiring leaders, marketing and communication teams, external agencies, and academic partners, including nursing school liaisons.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Plan, implement and develop recruitment strategies and sourcing techniques to identify talented RN, APRN, PA, LPN and Nursing Leadership candidates with the greatest potential for success at UM Health.

    + Partner with nursing, APP and hiring leaders to assess staffing needs.

    + Manage the recruitment cycle for nursing and physician assistant positions, from sourcing and screening candidates to processing job offers and pre-employment onboarding.

    + Oversee and facilitate the nursing recruitment hiring process to include job postings, candidate sourcing and screening, and completing job offers. Manage the pre-employment onboarding process for selected RN, APRN, PA, and LPN candidates.

    + Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external partners to support recruitment initiatives.

    + Ensure a positive experience for candidates and hiring leaders, providing updates and guidance throughout the recruitment process.

    + Actively follow-up with hiring leaders and candidates to collect feedback for continuous improvement of the talent acquisition experience.

    + Serve as a consultant and strategic partner to nursing leadership teams, providing guidance, and supporting goals and initiatives, related to RN and APP.

    + Provide guidance consistent with UMH Michigan Medicine institutional employment policies and procedures and state and federal law.

    + Develop strategies to create and maintain strong candidate pipelines through proactive sourcing, career fairs, digital platforms, professional networks, and community outreach.

    + Represent UMH, Michigan Medicine at national and local recruitment events, professional conferences, conventions, and career fairs, to recruit and ensure employer brand presence.

    + Act as a liaison with UM School of Nursing and develop partnerships with local and regional schools of nursing.

    + Track, analyze, and report recruitment metrics (vacancy rate, turnover, exit surveys) to guide strategic decision making.

    + Collaborate with hiring leaders and key stakeholders to develop recruitment plans that support facility expansion efforts and strategic growth.

    + Interface with communications team, advertising agencies, marketing team, and others, to coordinate marketing materials, brochures, social media and giveaway(swag) branding.

    + Manage and lead strategic projects related to workforce planning, recognition, and retention strategies.

    Required Qualifications*

    + Bachelor's degree in health care, human resources or related field. Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN), preferred.

    + Minimum of five (5) years healthcare experience; preferably in an academic medical center

    + Recent experience (within the last 2 years) either as a healthcare recruiter, clinical nurse director/manager/supervisor, or healthcare human resource consultant

    NOTE:

    * Occasional travel is required both locally and nationally

    Desired Qualifications*

    + Nursing Leadership experience is preferred.

    + Previous healthcare recruitment experience is preferred.

    + Considerable and progressively responsible experience in employment, employee relations, and compensation.

    + Experience with full cycle recruiting to include creating recruitment strategies for sourcing, screening, selection and retention.

    + Experience with pre-employment screening and processing job offers.

    + Previous experience in data management, event planning and project management highly desired.

    + Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

    + Exceptional time management and organizational skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps.

    + Ability to define, analyze, implement and control recruitment strategies and processes.

    + Ability to adapt to change and plan strategically.

    + Ability to develop effective working relationships with nursing leaders and hiring managers.

    + Vision and energy to proactively address issues related to Nurse and PA recruitment and retention.

    + Strong customer service focus and commitment to continuous improvement.

    + Initiative to invest in personal and professional growth.

    Work Schedule

    **Hours** : 40 per week

    NRR Office hours:

    + 8 AM to 5 PM, 8-hour shifts

    + Monday through Friday; subject to change

    + Hybrid workplace model (two (2)remote days and three (3) in-office days); subject to change

     

    Note: Work schedule will be required to flex to the needs of the department and may include some weekend and evening hours on occasion.

     

    **FLSA Status:** non-exempt **Location** : North Campus Admin Complex/ NCAC (2901 Hubbard)

    Background Screening

     

    Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
