    Description

    The Administrative Officer 2 is responsible for operational functions: scheduling, departmental projects, space planning, communications, departmental competencies, and department orders under the direction of the Unit Director. They participate in setting, implementing, communicating, and maintaining standards of performance in the department. Review and verify the accuracy and appropriateness of scheduled procedures for the Surgery Center. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and be responsible for navigating essential systems such as CareConnect (EPIC), One Staff scheduling, Lawson (for requisitions, approvals, and PO tracking), and Ascend (accounts payable). This role will also support project coordination of operations by collaborating directly with the Unit Director, Medical Director, and Surgical schedulers to ensure smooth procedure planning, while maintaining strong attention to detail and clear, professional communication with staff and clinical teams.Qualifications

    Required

    + Minimum of 3 years experience in Perioperative Administration

    + Physically capable of handling office duties requiring prolonged sitting, occasional lifting (up to 30 lbs), and safe handling of materials.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, CareConnect (EPIC), One Staff scheduling, Lawson requisitions, and Ascend accounts payable systems to efficiently manage daily administrative tasks. (Required)

    + Operational role in maintaining the surgical schedule in collaboration with the Unit Director and Medical Director

    + Strong knowledge of medical terminology, operating room procedures, surgical schedules, and coding systems (CPT, ICD-9) to support clinical teams accurately.

    + Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.

    + Effective communicator, able to interact courteously and clearly with surgeons, residents, scheduling coordinators, and healthcare team members.

    + Demonstrates flexibility by adapting to shift changes, emergency situations, and evolving scheduling protocols as needed.

    + Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships across departments, fostering a positive team environment.

    + Knowledgeable about institutional policies, organizational structure, and adheres to departmental standards and procedures.

    + Consistently maintains professionalism in appearance, behavior, and communication to reflect the standards of the healthcare environment.

    Preferred

    + Health Administration Degree
