Job Title: Construction Materials Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team, primarily to test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in our laboratory. This role offers in-house training and an opportunity to work on some of the largest projects in the state across various industries, including industrial, power, and private sectors.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and others regarding construction site activities, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection needs.

+ Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

+ Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports for daily transmittal.

+ Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

+ Assist with scheduling and dispatch of technicians to project sites.

+ Adhere to strict safety standards.

+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results.

+ Progressively take on increased training and responsibility in work assignments.

Essential Skills

+ Experience with concrete and construction processes.

+ ACI Certification, along with KYTC, ICC, or other relevant certifications.

+ Previous Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience of 1+ years.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Hands-on training for an entry-level civil role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a lab environment with typical working hours from Monday to Saturday, ranging from 8 to 10 hours per day. During the summer, the workload may increase compared to the winter. Work is primarily within a team setting, and overtime is available after 40 hours. Due to the nature of the industry, a 40-hour workweek is not guaranteed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
