    Job Summary

    At GKN Aerospace, we’re committed to delivering high-quality components through a reliable and compliant supply chain. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our suppliers meet performance expectations, comply with industry standards, and continuously improve. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working across teams, solving problems, and driving measurable results.

     

    What You'll Be Doing

    Supplier Oversight

    + Conduct audits (quality system, process, product) to evaluate supplier compliance

    + Monitor supplier performance and maintain metrics for internal and external reporting

    + Identify risks and lead improvement initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality

    Quality Assurance

    + Flow down quality requirements to suppliers

    + Review and approve first article inspections (AS9102)

    + Partner with Receiving Inspection to reduce incoming defects

    + Investigate recurring issues and issue SCARs when necessary

    + Track corrective actions to closure

    Supplier Development

    + Assess manufacturability of components and provide technical guidance

    + Support suppliers in implementing process improvements

    + Maintain the Approved Supplier Listing (ASL) and ensure timely renewals

    + Confirm control plans and resources are in place for critical suppliers

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    + Work closely with Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality

    + Assist with packaging and receiving issues

    + Support internal audits and contribute to procedure development

    + Help foster a proactive, improvement-focused culture

     

    What You'll Need

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field; Will consider 8+ years of professional experience in manufacturing supplier quality, in lieu of degree.

    + 2+ years of suppiler quality engineering experience in a manufacturing.

    Experience with:

    + + GD&T

    + First article inspection (AS9102)

    + MRB/non-conforming parts

    + Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

    + Willingness to work weekends as needed

    + Ability to travel up to 25%

    + Must be eligible to work under ITAR/EAR regulations

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + ASQ Certification

    + Quality Accreditation (i.e., Internal Auditor, QMS)

    + Lean and Continuous Improvement skills with background/certification in Lean Six Sigma

    + Green belt or black belt certification

    Compensation Data

     

    Compensation Range: $100,588.00 - $150,883.00
