Type: Contract (3 months)
Compensation: $30 - $40 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Hybrid (Tues, Wed, Thurs on-site)
Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 4:30pm

As a GMS Buyer, you are responsible for supporting the financial operations of the manufacturing division by providing detailed cost analysis and reporting. This role involves monitoring and controlling cost structures, preparing cost reports, and collaborating with various departments to optimize cost efficiency and support decision-making processes.
Must Haves/Requirements:
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
+ Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
+ Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is preferred.
+ Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
+ Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build effective working relationships.
Responsibilities:
+ Cost Analysis and Reporting: Analyze manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead, to provide accurate financial reports and insights.
+ Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company financial goals and strategies.
+ Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgeted or standard costs and provide explanations for discrepancies.
+ Inventory Management: Monitor and evaluate inventory levels, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, to ensure accurate valuation and cost control.
+ Product Costing: Develop and maintain product cost models, ensuring accurate calculation of standard costs and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
+ Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports related to manufacturing costs for management review, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
+ Process Improvement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance cost efficiency and accuracy.
+ Compliance and Auditing: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist with internal and external audits related to manufacturing costs.
+ System Management: Utilize ERP systems to manage and analyze cost data effectively, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
