Division : Within the Nursing Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation, and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail-based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric care are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana.
ELMHS is looking for a motivated, detail oriented individual to come and join the team in the Nursing Department as a RN Manager!
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or a temporary permit or multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state to practice as a registered nurse plus one of the following:
Four years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A bachelor's degree in nursing plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A master's degree in nursing or public health plus three years of experience as a licensed registered nurse; OR
A doctorate in nursing or public health plus two years of experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
In this role, you will:
+ Plans manages and directs total nursing services of a multi-service patient area on a 24 hour basis and coordinates patient and nursing activities with other departments and disciplines.
+ Provides direct administrative supervision, support and consultation to RN Supervisors on two teams and indirect supervision, support, consultation and counseling for lower nursing subordinates on assigned teams.
+ Makes regular and frequent nursing/supervisory rounds, monitors treatment performance/patient care and record documentation to assure compliance with defined standards.
+ Provides input into professional and non-professional staffing requirements for assigned units; has line authority and supervisory responsibility for all nursing functions (multi-ward and multi-teams) including staff/scheduling of nursing resources, approval of leave requests, monitoring staffing assignments for assigned teams to assure adequate and safe nursing coverage
+ Serves on nursing councils with responsibility for policy/procedure development; identification and resolution of ethical, legal and patient care issues; identification of performance improvement issues and assists with the development of action plans when so assigned.
+ Coordinates the development and implementation of unit performance improvement plans, participates in department performance improvement plans.
+ Interprets standards of care and policies/procedures defined by Nursing Department, ELMHS, LDH, OBH, and Civil Service to subordinate
+ Develops performance plan with subordinates, monitors performance and work products, provides coaching and training as needed; assists employees with identifying educational needs and adjusts work schedules as needed to permit employees to participate in educational opportunities
+ Acts as liaison with families, other facilities and law enforcement agencies concerning patient's admissions, discharges, and transfers.

+ This position has an SER of $44.79 hourly and $3583.20 Biweekly
+ This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
+ Facility Longevity – Starting at $2.00
+ Recruitment/Retention - $10.00
+ Recruitment/Retention – $2.00
