Custom Job Purpose:
This position exists to support the retirement program, including scheduling appointments for employees regarding retirement, changes to employee#s voluntary retirement records, retiree insurance program communications and changes.
Essential Functions of this Job
* Schedules appointments for the retirement specialist and supports employees with basic questions regarding retirement and associated paperwork.
* Assists employees with questions regarding the retiree insurance program, including the Florida School Retiree Benefits Consortium (FSRBC).
* Assists with life insurance claim processing, supporting the Sr. Technician.
* Assists with preparation of retiree communication materials
* Assists with processing and questions related to the District#s voluntary retirement program, including the 401(a) plan.
* Resolves, in a timely fashion, employee questions and concerns referencing retirement issues.
* Assists other team members with delivering presentations concerning retirement programs and insurance benefits to District employees.
* Assist with posting payments and setting up retiree insurance benefits as needed.
* Serves as a backup to Sr. Technician with assigned tasks.
* Helps to prepare website information on retirement benefits.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Considerable customer service experience and proficiency in using multiple computer programs such as Microsoft Word, and Excel. Ability to handle busy telephones and employee requests, while providing excellent customer service. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other team members and with other departments. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.
Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school or satisfactory completion of the General Education Development (GED) required. Associate's degree or higher is preferred. Minimum of four years of experience in insurance, retirement programs, or comparable work environment or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Work Context:
Requires sitting and some standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires work with both internal and external contacts, and with the public.
Physical Environment:
Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting, standing, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds, and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds. May occasionally require travel to schools and work locations within the District.
