Position Summary...
What you'll do...
We are seeking a Director, Strategy & New Format Growth to join our team. In this role, you will drive the strategic planning, project execution, and scaling of Walmart’s new and emerging retail formats. You will collaborate across functions to shape growth strategies, manage critical initiatives, and accelerate rollout timelines that deliver innovation and long-term value to the business.
Responsibilities
+ **Strategy Development** : Define and refine growth strategies for new and evolving retail formats, aligned with Walmart’s long-term vision.
+ **Market & Trend Analysis** : Analyze customer insights, market trends, and competitive activity to identify new opportunities and inform decision-making.
+ **Project Management** : Lead cross-functional initiatives from concept through execution, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to strategic priorities.
+ **Format Incubation & Scaling** : Support the design, testing, and rollout of new formats, ensuring learnings from pilot phases are rapidly applied to broader expansion.
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration** : Partner with Portfolio Management, Project Management and Design, Store Operations, Finance, Merchandising, and Supply Chain to develop business cases and implementation roadmaps.
+ **Performance Tracking** : Establish success metrics, track performance of new formats, and recommend course corrections to accelerate growth.
+ **Executive Communication** : Develop presentations and updates for senior leadership to inform strategic decisions and secure alignment.
Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Strategy, or a related field (MBA a plus).
+ 7+ years of experience in strategy, corporate development, retail innovation, or project/program management.
+ Proven ability to design and execute growth strategies with measurable business impact.
+ Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize data and market insights into actionable recommendations.
+ Excellent project management skills, with experience managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
+ Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
+ Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with changing priorities.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field and 5 years’ experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related area OR 7 years’ experience in architecture, construction management, engineering, or related area. 1 year’s supervisory experience.
