Job Summary

System Design and Architecture (SDA) is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. This position is an onsite role in Tucson, AZ

This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:

+ (Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship

+ (Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship

+ (Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship

+ (Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship

What You Will Do

As a System Design Intern within SDA, you will develop CONOPS, system architecture, system requirements and manage qualification, verification and validation. You will also perform functional / physical analysis, allocation, and trade studies. You will support engineering testing, integration and flight-testing, production, system deployment, and post deployment support across the product lifecycle. Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.

Qualifications You Must Have

+ This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate standing level by the start of Summer 2026.

+ The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

+ Specific majors: Systems Engineering or related scientific or STEM discipline

+ 3.00 cumulative GPA required.

+ Experience or coursework in System Design

+ Matlab and/or C++ experience Modeling and Simulation experience

+ Ability to analyze issues and define solutions

+ Strong communication skills including effective written, verbal, and listening skills

+ Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information and solve problems

+ Basic Engineering skills and interest in how systems are developed and function

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
