    Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for a **Principal Specialist, Contracts** role in the Javelin JV programs residing within the Precision Fires & Maneuvers Sub-Strategic Business Unit (SSBU) within Land & Air Defense Systems (LADS). This position will be responsible for supporting proposals, negotiations, contract execution and Customer interface for the Javelin Engineering Services portfolio. This portfolio includes Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost-Plus Fixed Fee Type contracts, ultimately supporting all phases of product life cycle. The selected candidate will be a member of a 6 person Contracts team led by the Raytheon Associate Director, Contracts for the Javelin Joint Venture portfolio of programs.

     

    This portfolio is currently primarily comprised of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and Foreign Military Sale (FMS) contracting with opportunities for further growth. The position will be well suited for a highly motivated, well-organized person who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment with a key outside partner. Success in this position is defined as being a business partner with the assigned teams. Enablers for success include being able to effectively multitask; familiar with DoD contracting; and demonstrate good communication skills to be able to interface with all levels of internal and external customers.

     

    This role will be co-located with the Javelin team working onsite in Tucson, AZ. Some travel may be required dependent on office location.

    What You Will Do

    + Effectively communicate with internal and external customers

    + Analyze Requests for Proposal (RFP) related to Engineering Services Management (ESM), development of proposals in the Technical Directive Letter (TDL), proposal reviews and coordination, negotiation, contractual agreements, contracts execution, as well as general contract administration

    + Collaborate with the Contracts Lead and team members, Program Managers, Chief Engineers, Proposal Manager, Business/Estimating and Supply Chain

    + Support program management and execution reviews

    + Provide sound contract management to meet customer obligations, achieve company objectives, and comply with company policies

    + Provide guidance regarding contractual and business issues, advising stakeholders of contractual rights and obligations as well as possible mitigation of contractual/program risks

    + Examine and understand cost structure estimates of labor, material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness

    + Identify, mitigate, and drive the resolution of contractual issues as they may arise

    Qualifications You Must Have

    + Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience

    + Experience in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or Department of Defense FAR Supplement (DFARS) contracting

    + Experience with one or more of the following: Contracts Administration/ management, Program/Project Management, Supply Chain Management or Financial/Estimating Management

    Qualifications We Prefer

    + Excellent communication skills

    + Excellent collaboration and leadership skills; demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and build effective relationships based on respect and trust

    + Experience in a position requiring multi-tasking and handling several assignments concurrently or similar project management or coordination

    + Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts

    + FMS and/ or DCS experience

    This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.     The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
