Job Description
Principal Accountant
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated employs approximately 15,000 people across 36 countries and provides enabling technologies for industrial growth markets that require advanced technology and high reliability.
Our Teledyne ETM facility is part of the Digital Imaging Segment. It is based in California and Colorado and is a specialist in the provision of standard and tailored power subsystems, across a range of business applications and markets.
The Finance team at ETM covers the full range of accounting disciplines, alongside our shared services teams. We focus on providing a high quality, professional and efficient service to both our internal and external customers, based in the USA and across the world.
Please note that for this position, experience in a manufacturing environment and of inventory management is required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Performs business unit accounting and financial reporting, general ledger account reconciliations, related financial schedules.
+ Responsible for the month-end closing process, reporting actuals in OneStream, management reporting, and Tax Package.
+ Prepares journal entries for ASC606 Revenue Recognition, COGS, inventory, and general accounting.
+ Performs account reconciliations in Inventory, Cost of Sales, and General Ledger.
+ Performs variance analysis such as Purchase Price Variance and Work Order variances.
+ Performs inventory costing and related activities within the ERP system.
+ Supports activities between internal audit, external auditors, and management.
+ Coordinates Year-end physical inventory and response to audit inquires.
+ Ensure accuracy of financial information in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with internal accounting policies & procedures.
+ Supports SOX Internal Control testing, Annual External audits, and other financial audits.
+ Assists with related special projects as required and other duties as assigned by Controller.
Qualifications and Experience:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
+ 10 years of public or private industry experience with at least 5+ years in cost accounting and 2 years of managerial experience.
+ Medium to large company accounting experience.
+ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
+ Oracle or SAP ERP system, OneStream software, and Workiva experience a plus.
+ Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
+ Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to think creatively, highly driven, and self-motivated.
+ US Citizenship.
Salary Range:
$120,300.00-$160,400.000
