Summary:
The Senior Manager, Product Engineering role is tailored for an experienced leader who will not only oversee product development but will also manage the IT product lifecycle processes. The senior manager is an experienced leader who manages product development and lifecycle management. Leads a team(s) of engineers, related professionals, and support personnel. This type of manager has shown proven success in managing application engineers and her/his technical competency provides a referenceable framework for any language/platform.
Responsibilities:
+ Develops strategies and roadmaps in partnership with Senior leadership team.
+ Responsible for leading, nurturing, and transforming teams of high-performing engineers and TPMs to deliver IT projects that bring significant value to our stakeholders.
+ Proven success in managing application engineers, along with a strong technical competency that can be applied across various languages and platforms, is essential for this role.
+ Manages overall budget for the product portfolio area.
+ Leads and scales high-performing engineering teams to deliver complex software solutionsefficiently and effectively.
+ Develops and executes a strategic vision for the engineering organization, aligning technologyadoption and resource allocation with business objectives.
+ Mentors, coaches, and develops engineering managers and other high-performing leaders withinthe team.
+ Fosters a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence within the engineeringorganization.
+ Analyzes business needs and proposes budgets, technologies, and resources to achievestrategic goals.
+ Actively seeks out and implements innovative solutions to improve efficiency, scalability, andcustomer experience.
+ Presents technical thought leadership and insights at various leadership forums.
+ Drives a data-driven decision-making culture within the engineering organization.
+ Champions a culture of alignment, ensuring the people and culture of the organization areprepared to adapt to changing business needs.
Experience and Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. A master’s in computer science is a strong preference.
+ 7-10 years' hands on experience in software engineering field. Experience in leading software engineering teams and proven track record of delivering successful projects.
+ Proven ability to build and manage high performing engineering teams, measured by data and KPIs.
+ Experience of running agile practices.
+ Strong experience of data and architectural principles.
+ Makes data driven independent decisions.
+ Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relations.
+ Ability to prepare and present executive content.
+ Ability to build long term strategy and roadmap.
+ A background in Property & Casualty insurance, especially with experience in Guidewire Billing, is a plus.
