    House of Mercy is seeking licensed mental health therapists to serve adults, families, and children for outpatient mental health and substance abuse services. House of Mercy uses evidenced-based practices to provide high-quality, personalized care for each client.     We are seeking a Full-Time Therapist or Counselor:

    (LMSW/LISW, tLMHC/LMHC or tLMFT/LMFT)

    Applicant Qualities:

    We are looking for candidates who: possess a passion for serving individuals and families with sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics; have a desire to meet clients where they are through a trauma-informed, person-centered approach; and can maintain a high standard of courtesy, cooperation and professionalism when collaborating with members of clients’ interdisciplinary teams.

    Essential Functions include:

    + Performing comprehensive assessments (psychosocial history) to analyze and synthesize the client’s status and addresses the client’s strengths, problems, and areas of clinical concern.

    + Continually assesses client needs/strengths, behaviors, and progress toward desired outcomes.

    + Maintain timely and compliant clinical documentation

    + Provide psychosocial counseling/treatment services to restore clients to optimum social and physical well-being (within their capacity).

    + Provide therapy in individual and group sessions for co-occurring, substance abuse mental health, trauma, and personal growth related concerns.

    + Coordinate services with community agencies as needed to provide an extended, high quality continuum of care

    + Prepare and distribute required reports and other documentation of services according to House of Mercy policies and procedures, applicable laws, regulations and licensing requirements.

    General Requirements:

    + Master’s Degree in a human services related discipline, required.

    + Temporary license to provide mental health therapy in the State of Iowa or LMSW (licensed master social worker)

    + Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within first 30 days of employment.

    + Understand medical terminology and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.
