    Description:

    The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) at the Sanctuary of Holy Cross in South Bend, Indiana, plays a vital leadership role in supporting the Director of Nursing in managing the clinical operations of the nursing department. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and promotes a culture of excellence, safety, and compliance within the long-term care environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist in planning, organizing, and directing daily nursing operations.

    + Supervise nursing staff including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other clinical personnel.

    + Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, infection control protocols, and facility policies.

    + Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of nursing staff.

    + Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

    + Monitor resident care and intervene when necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.

    + Conduct rounds to assess resident conditions and staff performance.

    + Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

    + Assist in preparing for state surveys and implementing corrective actions as needed.

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation and records.

    + Promote teamwork, communication, and a respectful work environment.

    + Act as a liaison between residents, families, staff, and external healthcare providers.

    + Serve as acting Director of Nursing in their absence.

    Qualifications:

    + Current RN or LPN license in the State of Indiana.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree with relevant experience considered.

    + Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in long-term care, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

    + CPR certification required.

    + Strong knowledge of nursing practices, geriatric care, and regulatory standards.

    + Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment.

    Work Environment:

    + Clinical and administrative setting within a long-term care facility.

    + May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday shifts.

    + Physical demands include walking, standing, lifting, and responding to emergencies.
