    Job Title: Laborer

    Job Description

    The Laborer is responsible for relocating, assembling, and dismantling furnishings, equipment, materials, supplies, temporary structures, and stages for classes, meetings, special campus events, or maintenance jobs. The role involves performing loading, transportation, and unloading of trucks and other vehicles, as well as operating, cleaning, and maintaining tools and equipment.

    Responsibilities

    + Relocate, assemble, and dismantle furnishings and equipment for various events and maintenance jobs.

    + Perform loading, transportation, and unloading of trucks and other vehicles.

    + Operate, clean, and maintain tools and equipment.

    + Empty refuse bins, sweep surrounding areas, and remove litter.

    + Assist other Facilities Services units with general housekeeping tasks based on operational needs.

    Essential Skills

    + At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

    + Flexibility to work in multiple buildings.

    + Ability to take direction from a supervisor and follow step-by-step cleaning procedures.

    + Team player mentality with the ability to work with others.

    + Proficiency in reading and speaking English.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Working knowledge of floor and carpet care is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a dynamic environment with 115 employees cleaning various facilities, including academic buildings, classrooms, and the Highlander Union Building (HUB) with 150,000 square feet. Please note that a parking pass is required, and the dress code consists of a plain T-shirt, any color jeans, and comfortable walking shoes.

    This is a Contract position based out of Riverside, California.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $32.09 - $32.09/hr.
