Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Job Description
Join a dynamic Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) team as a Laboratory Technician, where you will play a crucial role in supporting laboratory activities and ensuring the timely completion of critical projects.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare solutions and media for laboratory experiments.
+ Operate equipment following instructions provided by lead scientists.
+ Perform in-process sampling and testing.
+ Set up and dismantle equipment as required.
+ Decontaminate and clean equipment and facilities.
+ Prepare samples for analytical testing.
+ Conduct routine maintenance of equipment and instruments.
+ Monitor and restock laboratory and equipment consumables.
+ Receive, transport, and organize MSAT samples during manufacturing and pilot campaigns.
+ Ensure compliance with laboratory hygiene standards (5S) and safety procedures.
+ Collaborate with the team to achieve experimental goals.
+ Support lab personnel in data extraction, verification, and equipment troubleshooting.
+ Assist with operations in cell culture, including solution preparation, consumable assembly, vial thaw, seed expansion, production bioreactor, harvest, and sample submission.
Essential Skills
+ Mammalian cell culture experience.
+ Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
+ Prior laboratory experience managing inventory, stocking, glass washing, and buffer preparation.
+ Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the biopharmaceutical or biotech industries.
+ Strong experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, and warehouse operations.
+ Attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
+ Excellent organizational and communication skills.
+ Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
+ Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and proactively.
+ Experience with buffer preparation and glassware handling.
+ Familiarity with inventory tracking systems.
Work Environment
The role requires a shifted work week to cover Saturday and Sunday. During weeks without weekend activities, the schedule can be adjusted to ensure hours are met. Rotating with peers to cover holiday and off-shift work based on process demands is necessary. The work environment is very team-oriented, requiring cross-functional collaboration within the MSAT lab department. The role involves working in a lab, office, and manufacturing facility.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Sanford, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
