    About Rockville Correctional Facility :

    As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Rockville Correctional Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. We strive to model best Correctional practices, return productive citizens to our communities, and inspire a culture of accountability, integrity and professionalism. The Rockville Correctional Facility is an intake and medium security facility for adult females. Rockville Correctional Facility is located in Rockville, Indiana. The Department of Correction developed the facility from an Air Force base into a juvenile male facility, to co-ed, and now to adult females alone, making it the largest female facility. The Rockville Correctional Facility serves as the intake unit for women in the Department of Correction, which involves a series of assessments to ensure each incarcerated individual is assigned to the facility and programming that best meets their needs. Incarcerated individuals have multiple educational and vocational training opportunities, including cosmetology, parenting support and a partnership with Televerde that includes training and work opportunities inside the facility and post-release.

    Role Overview:

    The Program Coordinator is a member of the Re-Entry Department. The Re-Entry program is mandated by Indiana Law, IDOC Administrative Policy, and RCF Operational Procedures. Incarcerated Individuals within the last year of their sentence are required to participate in this program. The Program Coordinator is responsible for facilitating the program and preparing offenders for their transition back into society. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for the coordination and scheduling of staff volunteers and community resource providers. The Program Coordinator ensures every adult incarcerated individual who does not have sufficient time remaining to complete START participates and completes TIPS.

    Salary Statement:

    The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,320.00, but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

     

    A Day in the Life:

    The essential functions of this role are as follows:

    + Research and compile information on specific aspects of the program such as procedures, needs, and policies.

    + Answer customer questions about program policies and procedures.

    + Establish, organize, and maintain current and historical files related to the program.

    + Assist in the preparation of program reports, develop applications, prepare budget allocations and/or purchasing of consultative services.

    + Maintain, monitor, and order program assets.

    + Assist supervisor in the development and planning of overall program and its role in the functioning of the agency.

    + Schedule, prepare, and disseminate all program related training materials.

    + Specialized knowledge of applicable legislation, guidelines, agency policy and professional standards and practices.

    + Ability to research, analyze, and compile specific topics related to program area.

    + Ability to communicate effectively.

    + Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.

    + Ability to establish and maintain a working-relationship with staff and offenders.

    + Use tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.

    + Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
