    About this role:

    The Technology for the Chief Operating Office (TCOO) organization, provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office . This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. TCOO provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.

     

    Within TCOO we are seeking a Principal Engineer to join the Enterprise Risk Programs Office & Control Technology (ERPOCT) team. The ERPOCT team supports Control Management, Global Privacy, Accessibility & Accommodation Risk, Workplace Services under the Chief Administrative Office.

    In this role, you will:

    + Act as an advisor to leadership to develop or influence applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, or web technologies for highly complex business and technical needs across multiple groups

    + Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking

    + Translate advanced technology experience, an in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions

    + Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions

    + Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

    + Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership

    + Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release

    + Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture, for example cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy

    + Function as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning

    + Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards

    + Determine appropriate strategies and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement

    + Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk

    + Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices

    + Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers

    Required Qualifications:

    + 7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    + 7+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology

    + 7+ years of experience with technology such as Java, Angular, .NET, SQL Server and Big Data

    + 4+ years of experience managing SaaS applications

    + 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWA, Azure, GCP)

    + 2+ years of experience leading Generative AI or "Classical" AI initiatives

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Strong executive presence, facilitation skills, drive for results, attention to quality and detail, and a synergetic attitude

    + Ability to develop and deliver effective, well-articulated, written, and oral communications (e.g., emails, presentation materials) applying appropriate level of content/ detail dependent upon audience and intent

    + Experience as a highly effective leader with credibility from demonstrating strong business and technology acumen

    + Experience in Modeling, Gen AI implementations across CAO or COO domains (Supply Chain, Corporate Security, Resiliency, Operations, Risk) and implementation of technology solutions in one of the areas

    + Excellent communications, interpersonal, and presentations skills across technical and non-technical groups

    + Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities with a focus on proactive solutions

    + Experience with Agile transformations

    + Experience with Gen AI/Traditional AI stack including Python, Spark, Large Language Models

    + Experience with Agentic AI frameworks or similar

    + Experience in creating & delivering technology roadmaps
