Job Details Overview: We are seeking a motivated and skilled NP or PA to join our Gastroenterology service at a leading hospital on Long Island, NY. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment alongside a team of experienced gastroenterologists and support staff. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions. Conduct patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized care plans. Assist in procedures, including endoscopy and colonoscopy, as appropriate. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Educate patients on disease management, treatment options, and preventive care. Requirements: PA - Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program, minimum Bachelor’s degree required NP – Current RN license and current AANP or ANCC certification PA – Will consider new grad with relevant PA electives or clinical background NP – Will consider new grad with Acute Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP) Certification: Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner certification (ACNP) BLS/ACLS/AED training required and accepted from only 2 organizations: American Heart Association - BLS/ACLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program No online programs from any organization will be accepted. DEA registration required for those with discharge responsibilities.
