    Overview

     

    The Enterprise Architecture Manager acts as the focal point for designing and implementing enterprise technology for use in current and new product development and tactical application initiatives.

    Responsibilities

    + Serves as software design manager for all Paychex infrastructure design activities.

    + Establishes application direction and drives decision making within the Development group to ensure requirements and technical designs support company vision and product strategy.

    + Responsible for enforcement and governance of technology standards into the development teams.

    + Participates in defining the project scope and project definition to facilitate adoption of enterprise architecture.

    + Reviews System Design Document and System Requirements Specification Document for adherence of enterprise architecture and product direction.

    + Provides technical direction, training, and mentoring to the Development teams.

    + Sets goals and monitors progress of managers and staff to meet project timelines.

    + Directs the systems development or systems programming and integration processes in order to meet enterprise objectives.

    + Assesses the capabilities of new technologies through collaboration with Information Technology.

    + Research & Development, and then architects, designs, implements, tests, integrates, and deploys those solutions by road mapping the changes into product and project plans.

    + Anticipates and evaluates changes in technology trends and external influences that could require flexibility for changes in future architectures and roadmaps them into the plan.

    + Maintains close communication with Information Technology Research & Development to ensure application development is in line with enterprise goals.

    + Maintains close communication with Product Management and Program Office to ensure that application development is in line with product goals.

    + Ensures that standards are adhered to for software architecture and design, documentation, development, source control, testing methodology, and internal procedures in order to ensure consistency.

    + Ensures that an acceptable level of service is provided to all functions. Coordinates project requirements and daily needs with other groups to ensure quality, productivity, and integrity of schedule.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor's Degree in Computer related discipline - Preferred

    + Experience with performance tuning and capacity planningExperience in a management role or functionExperience in SOA, Web Services, Oracle, Java and/or Microsoft.net development.

    + 10+ years of experience in IT technology application development with experience building mission-critical software.

     

    Compensation

     

    In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $170,000 - $190,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
