DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This role is essential in assisting the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Bureau Directors with both internal and external communication initiatives related to PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services programs. The CRC II collaborates with a skilled communications team to effectively convey PennDOT's core messages, which emphasize safety, customer service, cost efficiency, and enhancing quality of life for the community.
Moreover, this position is responsible for overseeing all information and communication strategies for the Driver & Vehicle Deputate, acting as the primary spokesperson for statewide driver and vehicle services in connection with PennDOT. The role includes supervising a professional communications team, which consists of two Transportation Community Relations Coordinator 1 positions. Additionally, the CRC II is tasked with creating and implementing comprehensive public information and educational campaigns that promote the Deputate's prominent programs, products, and services, ensuring that these initiatives are customized to address the diverse needs of various audiences.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment.
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
+ This position may be eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS).
+ Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Two years of experience as a Transportation Community Relations Coordinator 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ Four years of public relations experience promoting programs through mass media, or community organizing experience; and a bachelor’s degree;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training
