Type: 12-month Contract
Compensation: $67 - $110 hourly
Contractor Work Model: Remote
Overview:
System One is seeking a Supplier Project Engineer, Procurement, where your expertise will play a crucial role in the successful management and technical integration of supplier projects. In this pivotal position, you’ll collaborate closely with various teams to ensure the seamless execution of supplier deliverables while maintaining adherence to both contractual obligations and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Project Management: Serve as the primary project manager for supplier performance, utilizing classic project management methodologies to oversee costs, schedules, and resource allocation while ensuring timely submittal compliance.
+ Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between internal technical and commercial teams to maintain alignment with contract requirements and technical direction, ensuring successful supplier engagements.
+ Statement of Work Development: Craft comprehensive Statements of Work (SOWs) and lead project planning initiatives to facilitate the successful execution of supplier projects that align with program objectives.
+ Supplier Selection Process: Facilitate the supplier selection process, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and evaluation activities alongside the Contract Administrator, navigating through the bids, evaluation, and award phases.
+ Oversight and Coordination: Direct supplier projects, working in tandem with the Contract Administrator to ensure all data and deliverables are met on time. Manage the technical review process of supplier deliverables and coordinate appropriate responses.
+ Technical Interface Management: Oversee the technical interfaces between supplier projects and the internal technical team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
+ Commercial Support: Provide support for contract administration and other commercial activities as needed to implement projects effectively.
+ Supplier Relationship Management: Stay informed about supplier technical capabilities, organizational changes, and relationships to foster positive feedback and enhance collaborative efforts.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
+ Educational Background: Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear, Systems, or Civil Engineering is required.
+ Experience: A minimum of 10-20 years of experience in supplier oversight, with preference for candidates having 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing oversight within either fabrication or Instrumentation & Control (I&C) environments.
+ Certifications: PMP certification or equivalent project management training is preferred.
+ Manufacturing Knowledge: Proficiency in understanding fabrication travelers, welding processes, and manufacturing standards, particularly UL 508A related to control circuits and motor controllers is desirable.
+ Project Scope Management: Proven capability in defining supplier work scopes, developing SOWs, RFPs, and providing effective project oversight.
+ Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.
+ Technical Acumen: Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and nuclear engineering and their interrelationships is essential.
+ Integrity and Teamwork: A high degree of trustworthiness, integrity, respect, and a commitment to fostering teamwork is essential.
