We are seeking a highly skilled **Senior Staff Cyber Systems Engineer Architect** to lead the design of a prototype cloud-hybrid SD-WAN for a global network operating within a multi-level security environment, including Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP). The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in systems architecture and have a strong understanding of network security protocols and obscuring techniques. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems support team in **San Antonio, TX** .
_Please be aware that this position will be contingent upon capturing program award, obtaining customer funding, and holding final clearances prior to start date.*_
What you'll get to do:
+ Lead the architectural design and development of a prototype SD-WAN solution encompassing Fixed Edge Node, Mobile Edge Node, and Airborne Edge Nodes.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure compliance with DoD standards.
+ Communicate and collaborate on system architecture solutions with other teams, including:
+ Cyber System Engineers
+ Network Engineers
+ DevSecOps Teams
+ Software Developers
+ Infrastructure Teams
+ Test Teams
+ Deployment Teams
+ Implement obscuring techniques to enhance data security across all nodes in a multi-level security environment.
+ Conduct performance analysis and optimization of the SD-WAN design to meet operational requirements.
+ Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, interface designs, and protocols.
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and other technical resources as needed.
+ Support customer engagements and technical presentations regarding system capabilities and benefits.
+ Travel to CONUS and OCONUS sites as required to support program development and deployment.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Staff Engineer Systems Architect:
+ Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of related experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; Master’s degree with 12 years of related experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; PhD. with 10 years of related experience in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related technical fields; _an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree._
+ Experience in systems architecture and network design, with a focus on SD-WAN technologies.
+ Must possess Systems Engineering, Architecture, and/or Test experience on a DoD program
+ Proven experience with multi-level security environments.
+ DOD 8140 Tier 3 certification is required.
+ A final DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility is required prior to start.
+ Willingness to travel for program-related activities.
+ Willingness to request a US passport during onboarding.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
+ Familiarity with obscuring techniques and advanced cybersecurity practices.
+ Certification: INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) Certification
+ Must have excellent communication skills and be capable of presenting technical concepts to a diverse group of engineers

+ Experience creating system architecture solutions and concepts for various new and emerging capabilities in collaboration with other architects and engineers.
+ Experience in identifying desired capabilities, defining those capabilities, communicating them to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users, and generating architectural artifacts to document and manage the achievement of the desired capabilities
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead technical discussions.
+ Experience with unusually complex technical problems and can provide solutions that are highly innovative and ingenious
+ Experience working within a team that designed systems in an environment utilizing existing or COTS/GOTS/FOSS components while considering DoD interoperability
+ Experience with security assessments to support ATO compliance

Primary Level Salary Range: $188,100.00 - $282,100.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
