What You’ll Do:

+ Update, maintain and index engineering records and files.

+ Diagnose performance and failure of operational equipment.

+ Perform calculations and detailed engineering studies using scientific calculations and the computer system.

+ Develop, test, modify and document computer programs.

+ Conduct computer simulation studies.

+ Prepare cost estimates.

+ Prepare memoranda, reports and make presentations.

+ Visit System and supplier facilities for inspections and tests.

+ Become familiar with Company organization, departmental functional responsibilities, and group interrelationships.

**Where You’ll Work: Onsite in** Corpus Christi, TX location.

What You’ll Get:

Intern Student Engineer (Grade Intern): Pay commensurate with education/experience

+ **Minimum:** $25.00/HR

+ **Mid-Point:** $33.00/HR

**Duration:** Minimum 10 weeks

What We’re Looking For:

+ **Education:** Completion of freshman year in a four (4) year Engineering Program recognized by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

+ **Capabilities:** Adaptability, Work Standards, Execution, Technical and Professional Knowledge, Lives the AEP Values

Other Skills Needed:

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Genuine interest in the electric utility sector, energy efficiency and sustainability practices

+ Effective time management skills
