The Head of Financial Management Reporting and Planning & Analysis will lead enterprise-wide management reporting and planning processes to support key decision-making and financial performance. This role will also be responsible for preparing materials and requests for the rating agencies and peer analysis and competitive benchmarking. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, analytical expertise, and the ability to drive alignment across the enterprise and business units to achieve financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee enterprise-wide management reporting and delivery of financial results and presentations, for executives, and The Board to support strategic decision-making.
+ Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, and professional growth to drive excellence in management reporting and planning.
+ Develop and enhance reporting frameworks to drive consistency, transparency, and strategic decision making.
+ Direct the enterprise financial planning process, aligning business unit planning with corporate objectives.
+ Partner with business leaders to develop financial forecasts, scenarios analyses, and performance targets.
+ Ensure seamless integration of business unit plans with enterprise financial strategy.
+ Manage relationships with rating agencies and prepare deliverables required for the Rating Agency meetings in partnership with other departments.
+ Conduct peer analysis and benchmarking to evaluate the company’s financial standing and identify opportunities for improvement.
+ Provide insights to leadership on industry trends and competitive positioning.
+ Partner with Investment Accounting team on net investment income (NII) planning and assumptions to optimize financial outcomes.
+ Partner with the Risk organization on Risk-Based Capital (RBC) planning efforts, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and optimizing capital efficiency.
+ Collaborate with actuarial, risk, and treasury teams to assess financial impacts and capital needs.
+ Own and leverage business intelligence solutions and automation to streamline financial reporting, enhance data accuracy, and improve efficiency in management reporting and planning.
Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
+ 10+ years of experience in financial planning, management reporting, or a related field within the insurance or financial services industry.
+ Strong knowledge of life insurance statutory financials, investment income, and capital management.
+ Advanced financial modeling, forecasting, analytical, data visualization, and business intelligence reporting skills.
+ Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities, with the ability to present to and influence senior executives.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills and proven presentation skills and abilities. Ability to communicate clearly with internal colleagues and external parties. Experience and/or the ability to credibly present to Senior Management, and rating agencies.
+ Ability to prioritize commitments and manage time effectively while operating in a highly active environment with multi-faceted responsibilities.
+ Team-oriented and collaborative, able to work effectively across the organization, building strong working relationships with executive management and across various functional areas.
+ Able to lead by example, persevere in the face of challenges, and exhibit a steadfast resolve and relentless commitment to higher standards. Able to manage conflict of opinions, build consensus, and drive results through effective decision making and leadership.
Salary Range:
$151,950.00 - $249,630.00
The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
