This is a part-time position with the Louisiana Housing Corporation.

We are looking for a part-time Accountant to join our Accounting team. Do you pay attention to detail, are you a problem solver, capable of managing financial statements? This position will process transactions and invoices, post ledger entries, and track funding.
An ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of GAAP, GAAS, and other accounting standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Proofreads and gives timely corrective action for new bond issues. Sets up the chart of accounts and spreadsheets to track and record new bond issues.
+ Assist in maintaining MRB cash management records, including funds received, funds disbursed by source, and classification of revenues and expenses by funding source.
+ Reviews bank trust statements to analyze if liquid funds will be available for debt service payments, to ensure that Bond Indentures are adhered to, and performs/monitors rebate arbitrage calculations for accuracy.
+ Assist with processes for all invoices/requisitions, verifying receipt of goods/services, budget approval, and the proper authorization, approval, and support.
+ Verifies administrative and program budgets for available funding using spreadsheets and program software.
+ Assist in preparing, submitting, and recording draws/billing/receipts for operating and programmatic revenue and expenses in accordance with agreements.
Position-Specific Information:
Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a part-time Classified WAE, limited to 1,245 working hours in a 12 month period. **Starting Hourly Pay varies, depending on experience.**
