    The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking a knowledgeable and results-driven Facility Maintenance Manager A to oversee all aspects of physical plant operations across facilities in the Northern Region of the state. This leadership role is responsible for managing maintenance teams, coordinating repairs and renovations, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

     

    The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, supervisory experience, and a commitment to maintaining safe, functional environments that support youth rehabilitation and staff wellbeing.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Five years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR

     

    Completion of a two-year training program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus three years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance; OR

     

    Eighteen semester hours in a construction field or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trade or building maintenance; or in road or bridge construction or maintenance.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    + Direct and supervise facility maintenance operations including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and groundskeeping

    + Manage maintenance staff schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations

    + Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and capital improvement strategies

    + Coordinate inspections, repairs, and renovations in compliance with state codes and agency policies

    + Monitor budgets, inventory, and procurement of tools, equipment, and supplies

    + Maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and regulatory compliance

    + Collaborate with facility leadership to prioritize maintenance needs and support operational goals

    + Respond to emergency maintenance issues and ensure timely resolution

    Position-Specific Details:

    Work Location: This vacancy will be located at Swanson Center for Youth in Monroe, LA.

     

    Job Details:The incumbent if the position is responsible for all Office of Juvenile Justice secure care and regional facilities in the Northern Half of the state, including but not

     

    limited to Swanson Center for Youth and Columbia Center for Youth.
