    Role Summary

Command Group is hiring a self-starting, self-guided creator to lead pitch materials and opportunity proposals and to act as our look/feel manager for client-facing materials in active projects.

You’ll turn loose ideas into tight narratives and polished decks, shape persuasive proposal packets for emerging opportunities, and enforce brand and quality standards across deliverables.

Remote work is the norm—you’ll collaborate virtually day-to-day and join occasional in-person sessions in Washington, DC or at client locations for key meetings or sprint reviews.

Strong plus: experience building client-ready decks at a major strategy/management consulting firm (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, L.E.K., Deloitte/Accenture Strategy, or equivalent).

    What You’ll Do1) Pitch Materials & Opportunity Proposals (≈50%)

+ Architect and write client-ready pitch decks, one-pagers, and proposal packets tailored to specific opportunities and meetings.

+ Define win themes, value propositions, proof points, and story flow; translate SME input into crisp copy and visuals.

+ Build short approach notes, bios, and case studies that can be rapidly customized for pursuits.

+ Maintain a living opportunity toolkit (slides, metrics, icons, diagrams, past performance blurbs) for fast turnarounds.

+ Proactively surface ideas and pre-build materials before they’re requested.

Note: Focus is bespoke opportunity responses and pitches—not formal, compliance-driven RFP management.

    2) Look/Feel Manager for Project Materials (Current Clients) (≈30%)

+ Serve as the brand and quality gatekeeper for all client-facing deliverables in active engagements.

+ Own the visual system: slide master, templates, typography, color, iconography, data display standards.

+ Run quick brand checks before deliverables go out; fix formatting, language consistency, and narrative cohesion.

+ Create and socialize style guides and naming/version-control standards; keep libraries current and easy to use.

+ Coach teams on best practices; provide redlines and light design polish to elevate deliverables.

    3) Marketing & Sales Enablement (≈20%)

+ Keep a simple content calendar aligned to priorities; ensure a steady cadence of refreshed assets.

+ Draft short POVs, capability narratives, and case studies; coordinate light web/CMS and social copy updates.

+ Track usage and outcomes of materials; capture wins and metrics for future reuse.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

+ Partners rely on your first-draft decks and proposal packets with only light edits.

+ A searchable, on-brand library that speeds pursuits and delivery.

+ Consistent look/feel across active projects; fewer last-minute formatting scrambles.

+ Positive partner feedback on your initiative, speed, and judgment.

    Required Qualifications

+ 4–7 years in pitch/proposal content, marketing communications, or sales enablement within consulting, security/defense, or other professional services.

+ Portfolio showing consulting-grade storylining (Pyramid Principle/SCQA), MECE structuring, and deck craftsmanship (clear takeaway headlines, clean exhibits).

+ Advanced PowerPoint and Word; working Excel for tables, timelines, and light charts.

+ Practical design sense; familiarity with InDesign/Illustrator or Canva/Figma is a plus.

+ Experience organizing shared libraries (SharePoint/OneDrive/Box) and comfort with CRM/pipeline tools (HubSpot/Salesforce).

    Preferred

+ Strategy/management consulting background with heavy deck-building responsibilities (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Strategy&, Oliver Wyman, L.E.K., Deloitte/Accenture Strategy, Booz Allen/BCG gov work, or comparable boutique).

+ Experience turning hypothesis-driven analyses and SME interviews into executive-ready briefers.

    How You Work (Must-Have Behaviors)

+ Self-starting & self-guiding: create your own briefs, plans, and checklists.

+ Owner mindset: spot gaps and fix them without being asked.

+ Editorial rigor: clean language, consistent formatting, on-brand visuals.

+ Remote-first operator: strong async communication, proactive updates, and smart use of collaboration tools.

+ Calm under deadlines: prioritize, communicate risks early, and deliver.

    Work Environment & Logistics

+ Work model: Remote-first, with occasional in-person collaboration in Washington, DC or other locations for key meetings or sprints.

    + Travel: Occasional

    + Competitive compensation with benefits.

+ Apply with: résumé, two writing samples (one marketing/one client-facing) and a sanitized 3–6 slide deck sample demonstrating structure and visual clarity.
