Job Description:
What You'll Do
As a UAT tester, you will spend your days understanding requirements, creating and executing test cases, and ensuring systems meet business needs. You will collaborate closely with business and technical teams, review automated and manual testing results, and document any defects. Your role is essential in preventing repeat issues, improving processes, and delivering a seamless experience for end users.
+ Responsible for ensuring test plans cover applicable scenarios. Tracks defects in company sponsored testing software. Leads business defect resolutions. Drives requirements between the business and technology teams to eliminate post install defects. Leads efforts to turn over test cases to the regression testing team.
+ Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.
In addition, you will:
+ Lead the creation of test scopes, test scenarios, and test data.
+ Review past issues to prevent them from happening again
+ Actively manage and escalate risks or issues that could impact customers.
+ Collaborate with the team to ensure high-quality testing coverage across all projects.
How You'll Do It
+ Executes and tracks test case results, opens defects, and partners with teams to resolve them. Leads test plan design and provides regular testing progress reports.
+ Trains, develops, and supports team members. Delivers testing communications between teams. Leads continuous improvement initiatives. Coordinates regression testing.
+ Participate in team discussions to share insights and suggest improvements to testing processes.

Bonus Points If You Have
+ **User empathy:** The ability to see and test the software from the end-user's perspective is critical for UAT.
+ **Stakeholder communication:** A UAT tester acts as a bridge between business users, developers, and project managers. Strong skills in communicating with diverse stakeholders, whether technical or non-technical—are a significant bonus.
+ **Documentation:** While basic test documentation may be a core duty, excellent skills in creating clear, thorough documentation for test plans, scripts, and results are a plus. This includes using screenshots or screencasts to make bug reports easier for developers to reproduce.
Technical and analytical skills
+ **Basic SQL knowledge:** For many UAT roles, a basic understanding of SQL for querying databases is a valuable bonus. This allows a tester to pull their own test data and verify that actions in the user interface correctly update the backend, rather than relying on developers for everything.
+ **Basic automation knowledge:** A basic understanding of Gherkin for test automation is valuable, but not required. By automating test scenarios, they can be run multiple times without the risk of manual error.
+ **Understanding of Agile/Scrum:** Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as Jira
+ **Experience with test/bug management tools:** Proficiency with specific tools like Jira, Xray, or Github
+ **Process improvement:** Showing an interest in not just testing a process, but also identifying ways to improve it demonstrates proactive, strategic thinking.
+ **Eagerness to learn:** The ability and desire to learn new technologies, tools, and processes quickly and enthusiastically is a great trait for an entry-level tester in a dynamic tech environment.
+ **Proactive ownership:** Highlighting an ability to take ownership of tasks and drive issues to resolution demonstrates initiative and self-sufficiency, both prized qualities in a new hire.
+ **Creative problem-solving:** Beyond a standard testing script, a candidate who can creatively think of unexpected or "negative" test scenarios will add more value to the team.

Compensation:
The base pay for this position generally ranges between $24.81 to $34.92. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
