Key Responsibilities
+ Provide comprehensive care, including sick call, chronic care, history and physicals, and emergency care as required.
+ Ensure timely, appropriate care at the right location for all patients.
+ Visit the infirmary daily and document patient encounters in medical records as assigned.
+ Participate in call as needed for the role.
+ Adhere to the approved formulary for therapeutic regimens and request non-formulary medication approval when necessary.
+ Provide in-house treatment or resources before seeking off-site referrals, handling emergencies on-site as required.
+ Perform emergency treatments, demonstrate CPR techniques, and administer related drug therapies with required certifications.
+ Support medical care standards by following established policies and procedures, offering instruction to colleagues when needed.
+ Attend medical staff meetings, provide in-service education, and participate in monthly quality reviews and chart audits.
+ Notify the Regional Medical Director and Site Health Services Administrator of any schedule changes.
+ Participate in quality improvement activities, including sentinel event reviews and utilization reviews.
+ Provide appropriate health care within the scope of practice, order necessary lab tests, X-rays, and ECGs.
+ Initiate consultations and non-formulary requests with supervisory physician’s approval.
+ Educate patients about medical conditions, medications, diets, weight control, and prescribed treatments.
+ Perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.
Key Qualifications
+ Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
+ Current state license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
+ Certification within the scope of practice and competency to perform responsibilities as defined by state practice act.
+ Current CPR certification.
+ Background check, security clearance, and drug screening required.
