Full-Time: 36 Hours/Weekly
Position works 7 days in a 2-week pay period. Schedule includes:
Every 3rd weekend rotation
---Saturdays: 9a-5p
---Sundays: 9:30a-1:30p
Every 3rd holiday rotation (holiday shifts are 9:30a-1:30p)
Thursdays consistently off
Weekday shifts: mix of 12-hour (7a-7p) and 8-hour (9a-5p)
Consistent 3-week schedule that repeats every 6 weeks
General Summary
Pharmacy Technicians assist with preparation and distribution of medications. Pharmacy Technicians are eligible for advanced technician positions based upon job performance and successful completion of requirements for advancement established in the Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder criteria grids.
Essential Functions:
+ Pursuant to the needs and offerings of the hiring department, essential job accountabilities may include the following:
+ Receives and stocks deliveries of pharmaceuticals and other supplies
+ Prepares, packages, and labels medications prior to dispensing.
+ Delivers medications to care areas within the hospital.
+ Delivers medications to off-site locations.
+ Manages pharmacy inventory management, including use of electronic inventory management systems.
+ Monitors product expirations and removes outdated stock from inventory.
+ Responds to product recalls.
+ Compounds non-sterile and sterile medication preparations.
+ Cleans and disinfects procedures.
+ Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones and maintaining adequate supplies.

+ Protects sensitive patient data per HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations.
+ Reasonable flexibility for occasional work outside of normally scheduled shifts based on the needs of the pharmacy department and the hospital.

Minimum Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED Required
