The KC-135 Stratotanker provides the core aerial refueling capability for the United States Air Force and has excelled in this role for more than 60 years. This unique asset enhances the Air Force's capability to accomplish its primary mission of global reach. It also provides aerial refueling support to the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and allied nation aircraft. The KC-135 is the backbone of the USAF refueling fleet and is scheduled to remain so for decades to come.
We are looking for an established Systems Engineering professional with a passion for engineering, a high degree of accountability and the ability to thrive in an Agile team environment as a part of the KC-135 Platform Systems team in the Military Avionics engineering organization.
What You Will Do:
+ Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for System development in all technical elements of an entire development project. (Capturing system requirements through Validation & Verification)
+ Design system solutions, ensuring the integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs
+ Perform Platform Systems specific on-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness and ad-hoc testing in a simulated lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases)
+ Perform investigations of lab hardware and environment; including integration investigations of the interfaces for Collin Aerospace equipment and government furnished equipment in the lab
+ Have the potential opportunity to see your work in action by assisting in ground and flight test events at customer facilities
+ Coordinate with software teams, Program Chief Engineer(s) (PCEs) and Platform Systems Test Lead to develop test plans and schedules
+ Perform as the bid leader for small proposals, navigating through the bids & pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes
+ Expand knowledge in the areas of earned value and risk management.
+ Champion knowledge sharing, elevating department expertise through both formal training and informal mentoring
+ Demonstrate the ability to work with the end user customer in a professional manner
+ Portray both strong written and verbal communication skills with others of varying technical backgrounds
+ Willingness to travel (domestically and globally <10%).

Qualifications You Must Have:
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
+ Experience with testing in a systems role.
+ Ability to obtain a US Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET security clearance after day 1.
Qualifications We Prefer:
+ Experience with various engineering tools including TNT, DOORS/JAMA, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others is desired
+ Experience (military or civil aircraft) in avionics systems, specifically testing and troubleshooting; prior KC-135 experience preferred
+ Working knowledge / understanding of data buses and protocols (Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553B, and ARINC-429)
+ Experience in an Agile environment using Jira tracking
+ Strong continuous improvement skills and customer focus
+ Familiarity with US export regulations: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)
+ Experience with Model-Based Design (MBD)/Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysML specifically))

**Onsite** : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
