We are looking for an experienced **Senior Chemist** to use their expertise in chemical analysis. You will be testing incoming chemicals for production use, manage expiration of standards, and support inventory’s management of chemicals. You will also perform carbon brake destructive testing and participate in internal audits.

What You Will Do:
+ Experience in internal auditing to AS 9100 Rev D.
+ Support or manage projects and/or project task activities as needed. Project activities include project plan development, material processing and testing, data collection and analysis, and summarizing information in comprehensive technical reports.
+ Demonstrate high level of self-initiative and bias for action.
+ Able to perform work with limited oversight/supervision.
+ Maintain responsibility and accountability for entire task/project.
+ Demonstrated ability to solve problems and exercise creativity to develop and/or implement practical solutions.
+ Demonstrate clear, well thought out logic in proposed approach/solution.
+ Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications You Must Have
+ Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience **or** an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
+ U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62
+ Experience preparing solutions, compounds, and reagents used in laboratory procedures.
+ Experience with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS, FTIR and other lab equipment.
+ Experience conducting tests on materials and other substances to ensure that performance and quality standards are met.
Qualifications We Prefer
+ Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
+ Experience in manufacturing, development and characterization of fiber-reinforced carbon/carbon.
+ Experience writing technical reports that detail methods and findings.
+ Experience in basic laboratory operation/hygiene, and the ability to maintain a high standard of such in a laboratory setting.
+ Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and tools: Lean, Six Sigma, CORE or ACE
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, share project progress internally and externally through oral presentations and written reports.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
