    Position Summary

    The Distribution Program Manager is accountable for the contract execution, delivery and quality performance, and relationship management for several assigned Distributors. This principal role acts as the main point of contact for the customer and all affiliated products, projects, escalations, and performance metrics. This role manages and serves as the distributor advocate to ensure that effective product management processes, schedules, costs, resources, and customer commitments are met.This role has no direct reports.

     

    The Distribution Program Manager collaborates with cross functional and divisional teams internally to facilitate timely execution of customer needs. Supports internal and external leadership level discussions, reviews, and negotiations as an essential advocate for the distributor and the business partnership

    Essential Functions

    + Serves as primary point of contact for assigned number of distributors and responsible for all elements of customer management. Acts as distributor advocate internally and represents entire division externally.

    + Ensures customer requirements and contractual obligations are met and are in the best interests of Parker. Ensures that the cost basis and/or pricing is correct by evaluating resource requirements and utilizing expertise of internal Parker teams.

    + Leads the development of program plans covering mature and new product development programs. Participates in program planning efforts; directs all phases of programs throughout the program lifecycle.

    + Ensures successful customer relationships by responding to all distributor requests and serving as the primary point of contact for all product activities, status, escalation, and problem resolution.

    + Organizes and leads programs by defining and identifying required expertise, provides feedback on contribution performance to team members and/ or their direct manager in matrix role.

    + Serves as key host, presenter, and facilitator at major program reviews. Ensures meeting actions are documented, communicated, and executed.

    + Acts as a consultant to management on specific programs or overall program management. Establishes goals and objectives required to complete programs. Provides mentoring within program management and leadership to varied project teams.

    + Maintains professional and technical/product knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical/specialty publications, and/or participating in professional associations. Shares specialized knowledge with others and serves as a resource on customer program management principles and practices.

    Job Requirements

    + Bachelor degree in engineering, Sciences, Business, or a related field. PMP certification required, typically within 6 months of assignment; advanced degree (MS/MBA) and additional certifications (e.g., PgMP, PMI-RMP) preferred.

    + Demonstrated ability to perform the essential customer management functions of the job acquired through 8 or more years of customer-related work experience including two or more years leading multiple projects.

    + Demonstrated knowledge of contracts and pricing agreements to facilitate customer contract negotiations

    + Knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture

    + Understanding of aerospace hardware and manufacturing/certification requirements preferred

    + Government contracts/requirements experience preferred

    + International customer account management experience preferred

    + Knowledge and proficiency with program management processes, methodology, and architecture.

    + Ability to effectively demonstrate business skills and lead cross-functional matrixed teams across a suite of distributors.

    + Knowledge of aerospace industry practices and the fielded product or service marketplace.

    + In-depth knowledge of aerospace commercial or military contracting and procurement requirements and understanding of financial and labor cost systems and production processes.

    + Proficient in the use of business applications software and the ability to use specialized project management and financial applications.

    + Ability to analyze and interpret complex policies, contractual language, and financial reports.

    + Ability to respond to and negotiate with customers, regulatory agencies, and business community members.

    + Ability to develop effective written communication and present information to various levels of management, leadership, customers, and/or suppliers.
