Description

We are looking for a dedicated Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our innovative and design-focused team in Santa Barbara, California. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing financial operations and ensuring the fiscal health of our organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Executive team to oversee accounting processes and maintain accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update detailed financial records for the firm and its owner, including loan payments and commercial property accounts.

• Prepare and reconcile monthly bank accounts, credit cards, and accounts payable/receivable tasks to ensure timely processing.

• Generate accurate financial statements, monthly profitability reports, and projected budgets.

• Administer payroll twice a month using an external payroll processor and manage related tasks such as 401K contributions, W-4 and I-9 forms, and employee reimbursements.

• Issue invoices to clients, track reimbursable expenses, and ensure monthly consultant payments are processed accurately.

• Oversee tax preparation submissions, quarterly sales tax payments, and compliance with business insurance requirements.

• Manage software license expenses, business license renewals, and group health insurance deductions.

• Ensure the accuracy of end-of-year reporting, including W-2s and 1099 forms.

• Track and organize business-related documentation, such as W-9 forms and workers' compensation audits.

• Handle regular bank deposits and maintain compliance with all financial regulations.

Requirements • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper with expertise in QuickBooks.

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and financial statement preparation.

• Ability to manage payroll administration and employee benefits accurately.

• Familiarity with tax preparation, sales tax payments, and compliance requirements.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining financial records.

• Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with team members and external entities.

• Capability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
