    Role Overview:

    The Document Preparation Associate provides technical support functions for the Returns Processing Center. You will work with a high degree of independence that requires technical knowledge of the department's rules, regulations, and general services. You may access federal tax information while performing daily job duties.

     

    This position requires a valid Indiana Driver's License to operate state-owned vehicles.

    Salary:

    The minimum salary for this position starts at $34,216 but may be greater commensurate with education or work experience.

    A Day in the Life:

    Responsibilities include:

    + Receive, analyze, and sort all Department of Revenue mail.

    + Review, analyze and determine the best method to process tax returns, in the most efficient manner possible.

    + Operate various high speed equipment such as mail cutter, sorter, ACE Extractors, forklift, and commercial shredder.

    + Inventory and disburse supplies throughout the building and agency.

    + Move of furniture when necessary.

    + Load and unload trucks.

    What You'll Need for Success:

    You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

    + General knowledge of the program area.

    + Basic knowledge of the rules and regulations pertaining to the assigned program area and its affects upon other agency operations.

    + Ability to gather and compile program materials.

    + Ability to communicate effectively.

    + Ability to operate effectively in a group decision-making process.

    + Tact in dealing with other agency personnel and the public.

    + Basic knowledge of accounting principles.

    + Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

    This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
