Job Title: Civil Drafter Job Description

We are seeking a Civil Designer with experience in civil and site design for development projects across commercial, industrial, and healthcare sectors. This position offers a unique opportunity to join an established civil and environmental engineering firm located near downtown Milwaukee, with a new office expanding into new markets. The firm has been actively involved in significant urban redevelopment in the area.

Responsibilities

+ Engage in civil and site design for development projects.

+ Collaborate on projects in the commercial, industrial, and healthcare sectors.

+ Participate in site planning, grading, and utility design.

+ Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting and design purposes.

+ Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

+ Take on additional responsibilities and larger roles in project management.

Essential Skills

+ B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering preferred, but not required.

+ 0-3 years of consulting experience on development projects.

+ Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.

+ Strong civil engineering skills including site planning, grading, and utilities.

+ Excellent communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in the agricultural or site development industry.

+ EIT / E.I.T. certification is a plus.

+ Bachelor's in Civil Engineering preferred; open to associate's degrees.

+ Experience in Civil 3D and CAD design.

Work Environment

This role is based on-site, with a standard 8-5 workday, allowing for flexibility with personal commitments. The team operates with a flexible and supportive approach, valuing each individual's contributions. The work environment encourages discovery of personal niches without excessive procedural constraints, as long as design deadlines are met. The firm is expanding, with a 100-person team in Milwaukee and new markets being explored.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middleton, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr.
