Sr Mechanical Engineer – Ride & Show Systems
Join a dynamic engineering team responsible for delivering innovative mechanical solutions across a diverse portfolio of themed entertainment experiences. This role offers the opportunity to lead and contribute to the design, development, and execution of complex mechanical systems for attractions ranging from roller coasters and water rides to animatronics, transportation systems, and resort infrastructure.
As a Sr Mechanical Engineer, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, ride control engineers, operations, maintenance, safety, and design assurance professionals. You’ll serve as a technical leader and project manager, guiding efforts from concept through commissioning and beyond, ensuring that every system meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
+ Lead engineering projects from concept through turnover, including design, specification, analysis, manufacturing support, installation, testing, and post-launch support.
+ Serve as job captain on small to large-scale initiatives, managing scope, schedule, and technical execution.
+ Conduct design reviews and ensure alignment with internal standards, codes, and stakeholder expectations.
+ Mentor junior engineers and provide peer review support to uphold engineering excellence.
+ Partner across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions that elevate the guest experience.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, or Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience designing heavy mechanical systems (e.g., conveyance, robotics, automotive).
+ Proven leadership in technical teams and cross-functional collaboration.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and engineering analysis tools such as ANSYS or MathCAD.
+ Familiarity with design standards, including AWS, DIN, ASTM, SAE, and ASME.
+ Experience in the themed entertainment or amusement industry, including ride systems such as gravity coasters, omni movers, and dark rides.
+ Hands-on experience with ride testing and commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain.
+ Experience with ASTM F24 or equivalent industry standards.
+ Knowledge of composite material design (e.g., fiberglass).
+ Familiarity with themed entertainment design standards and workflows.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $100.00/hr.
