    Medical Assistant – 8-Week Contract Assignment

    Looking to put your clinical and administrative skills to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment — without a long-term commitment? We’re hiring a Medical Assistant for an 8-week contract to support patient care and front desk operations in a dynamic clinic setting.

     

    You’ll be the go-to person for both patients and providers, ensuring smooth check-ins, assisting with exams and procedures, and coordinating referrals and authorizations. This is a great opportunity to build experience, stay sharp, and make a difference — fast.

     

    What You’ll Do

    In this hybrid front-desk and clinical support role, you will:

    + Greet and check in/out patients with professionalism and accuracy

    + Prepare exam rooms and equipment for daily use

    + Assist providers with rooming, exams, and minor procedures

    + Administer medications and vaccinations (with license confirmation)

    + Collect and process lab specimens; perform waived testing (e.g., glucose, pregnancy, urinalysis)

    + Process prescription refill requests per protocol

    + Maintain and update patient charts with current demographics, insurance, and authorizations

    + Schedule new and follow-up appointments using electronic systems

    + Ensure referral and service authorizations are in place prior to visits

    + Collect co-pays and provide billing support when needed

    + Perform EKGs, vital signs, and other delegated patient care tasks

     

    Pay Range for this opportunity is $28.00 to $42.00 per hour, DOE

     

    What You Bring

    Education:

    + High School diploma or GED equivalent

    + Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program (Required)

    Certifications:

    + BLS – Basic Life Support (Required)

    Skills & Knowledge:

    + Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures

    + Experience with coding, billing, and insurance verification

    + Ability to work in high-volume settings with professionalism and empathy

    + Proficiency in EHR systems and clinic scheduling software

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Organized, detail-oriented, and a team player

    **Pay Details:** $28.00 to $42.00 per hour
