    Job Title: Production Planner Job Description

     

    As a Production Planner, you will provide both tactical and strategic oversight to our warehouse and inventory control operations. You will initiate LEAN Manufacturing practices by analyzing trend information and recommending areas for improvement. Your role will involve reviewing and monitoring production variances, conducting weekly planning and scheduling meetings with production support teams to ensure productivity and delivery metrics are met. Additionally, you will support the development and achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that deliver results in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

    Responsibilities

    + Become a BAC ERP (NetSuite) superuser, addressing low-level system issues and maintaining the ERP system with production schedules and forecasts.

    + Set standards and monitor staff performance, providing feedback, conducting appraisals, recommending merit increases and promotions, and holding direct reports accountable to policies and performance.

    + Motivate and develop subordinates to optimize their performance and personal and professional growth.

    + Manage assigned projects, working cross-functionally to identify changes and required resources to meet objectives.

    + Plan, update, and monitor manufacturing schedules, establish delivery dates, and coordinate activities to support the master schedule, including tooling and material requirements.

    + Assist with monitoring materials inventory to effectively determine needs based on production schedules, execute cycle counts, and assist Finance/Accounting.

    + Maintain awareness of capacity constraints, material arrivals, customer demand changes, and quality issues; adjust and communicate schedule changes accordingly.

    + Own on-time delivery and create the most effective schedule possible.

    + Create and release travelers to the production floor as required.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in production planning, supply chain management, and ERP systems.

    + Proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    + Two to three years of planning and scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + 2-3 years' experience with ERP systems, with NetSuite ERP preferred.

    + Understanding of planning and scheduling methodologies, including forecasts, safety stocks, replenishment strategies, inventory optimization, lead time reduction, and Kanban.

    + General understanding of Lean Management.

    + Knowledge and experience working with an ISO13485 Quality Management System.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience managing direct reports is preferred.

    + Demonstrated success in managing workforce, conflict management, and working in a team environment.

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, Connecticut.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.65/hr.
