Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Inspection Technician for a Manufacturing facility in Charlotte, NC. This role is pivotal in ensuring that Additively Manufactured components meet quality standards and product specifications. The technician will manage daily operations in the metrology lab, maintain inspection equipment, and support various quality assurance and control processes.

Responsibilities

+ Perform quality inspections for receiving, in-process, and final inspection of Additively Manufactured components using advanced metrology inspection techniques such as 3D Scanners and CMM.

+ Manage the installation, setup, and qualification of new inspection equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards.

+ Coordinate and review outsourced inspection activities to ensure alignment with internal quality standards and customer requirements. Act as the primary point of contact for external inspection providers.

+ Perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R, etc.).

+ Operate and maintain all metrology equipment and support the preventative maintenance program for support equipment.

+ Coordinate with equipment manufacturers or outside vendors for troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration of metrology equipment.

+ Make decisions on acceptance/rejection and report any findings not covered in inspection procedures for further evaluation.

+ Raise and record notifications of non-conformance, quarantine non-conforming products, and support containment activities.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including material science, engineering, and planning, to support and execute necessary tests and documentation.

+ Support product requirements reviews and inspection planning in coordination with Quality Engineering.

+ Support inventory control, including consumables and shelf-life monitoring.

+ Cross-train on mechanical testing equipment for secondary testing support in the metallurgical lab.

+ Follow and maintain work instructions, procedures, and standard work within the site's Quality Management System (QMS).

+ Execute operations per Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) system plans to track production status and adhere to product/process requirements and specifications.

+ Attend occasional Zoom meetings before or after hours to facilitate global collaboration.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in metrology, CMM inspection, and advanced metrology inspection techniques such as 3D Scanner and CMM.

+ Ability to perform First Article Inspections (FAI) and Measurement System Analysis (Gauge R&R, etc.).

+ Experience with aerospace parts and additive manufacturing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ A 2-year degree is preferred.

+ At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a Manufacturing facility in SE Charlotte. The technician will work in a metrology lab and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Occasional Zoom meetings before or after hours are required for global collaboration.

This is a Contract position based out of SE Charlotte, NC

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.44 - $46.44/hr.
