As a Senior Manager, Accounting Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in assisting our client in a variety of challenging projects and the delivery of effective financial processes and controls that support business objectives and operational needs. Specifically, you will bring leadership, development, and guidance while rolling up sleeves and executing along with the team.
+ Managing the day-to-day accounting operations for assigned group company locations including the following areas: general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, inventory and costing, cash management, account reconciliations and financial close.
+ Inventory accounting experience (e. . you are knowledgeable with excess and obsolete inventory, scrap, labor and overhead calculations, as well as in- transit, inventory)
+ Assist with budgeting and shared service allocations at the group company level.
+ Involvement with intercompany transactions
+ Prepare management / KPI reporting, financial reporting, and related variance analyses.
+ Maintain compliance with company Accounting Policies and IFRS. Work to establish and maintain common standardized accounting procedures, collaborating with Managers/Senior Managers/Leadership at other group company locations across North America.
+ Support external and internal audits, including providing supporting documentation and responding to audit findings.
+ Manage the month-end accounting close, ensuring accurate and timely results that are in accordance with U. . GAAP requirements, review and analyze internal financial data to identify issues, opportunities, and trends to provide business owners and senior leaders with financial data that will support decision making
+ Install and maintain a proper control environment and culture to limit business risk and exposures.
+ Lead people to implement change through coaching, training, and clear objective setting in order to meet the client’s short-term needs and long-term goals
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
+ CPA or CMA is a plus
+ Master’s Degree is preferred
+ 10-plus years of professional experience in public accounting, related consulting and/or manufacturing industry experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role is required
+ Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP); SEC reporting experience is a plus. Experienced with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analysis
+ Excellent communication and facilitation skills, ability to build relationships and foster trust at all organizational levels
+ Experience working with large ERP systems and advanced technical skills
+ On-site in Battle Creek, Michigan 3 days/week
+ On-site in Battle Creek, Michigan 3 days/week
+ Variety of workplace arrangements including hybrid, remote, onsite.
